i have been playing clarinet for bout 2 years now and i have always been told to articulate, by touching the tip of the reed with my tounge. But everytime i do that, my playing sounds really "toungey"
Anyone got any sugestions?

You can also articulate the way floutists do. This is what I do it is making the motion of the "t" sound. It`s hard to explain but sit there and go "t,t,t,t,t,t,t,t" but don`t say "t" like TEA but more of a TEH sound. Then try that when playing.

You don`t want to tongue tip to tip. Use the part of your tongue that is just slightly back from the tip against just below the tip of the reed. You may be striking the reed too low or too heavily -- you only need the barest touch. Your tongue should also be arched up and back in your mouth, rather than flat down. This should help you control how much tongue you use.
