What the best humidity for a wood clarinet?? Mine cracked 4 months after I got and I don`t know if it was because the humidity changed to fast for it or if there was a defect but I got it pinned so its better!

My repairman from upnorth told me to get a DAMPIT!...it`s a small humidifier that the string players use in their cases...you went it, place it on at the back of the case so it doesn`t not touch your instrument and leave it be.....keeps the humidity out of the case.

The Dampit is to keep the case humid not get the humidity out. I know because I have one in my case. I got my Buffet R-13 festival about 6 months ago and I was told to buy one by the repairman that works at the music store that I bought it from. The directions say that you are supposed to wet it according to the humidity card that you hang in the room that you keep your clarinet in. I have been doing that since I got it and there has not been a problem with it yet. Plus I am now trying to break it in for out spring fetival so it is really important that I keep it wet.
