Hi Alex, didn`t you ask a similar question on the trumpet forum?

The simple answer is: Try both!

I found clarinet much easier to start than trumpet, but trumpet was more fun!

So play both instruments. I`ve played classical guitar, cello, piano, trumpet and clarinet. Assuming you have access to instruments, either begging, borrowing, renting or buying, then there`s no reason why you shouldn`t experiment to your heart`s content!

Have fun!

Steve

You should start a trumpet because clarinet stinks

Alex,
I replied on the trumpet one. It really depends on the shape of your mouth and which you have your heart into.
Have fun and Good luck

aaw marg that`s mean. you stink! HAHA jks jks...

umm

i picked the clarinet b/c it was easy. then it got really weird and complicated, so, whatever floats your boat.

i say play the clarinet so you can slowly switch onto the bassoon, which we all know pwns all other instruments (yes, even the kazoo)
