Right now I play the piano and the flute and I'm not planning to quit either especially the piano but I was thinking of switching to Basoon from flute in band because the band doesn't have one but I don't know how fast and well I could learn it or if I'd really enjoy it because it doesn't usually have the main melody. What do you all think?

The Bassoon is awesome and will change your life forever...
It is a little tricky at first but you will soon love it.
GO FOR IT!

i was also thinking about playing the bassoon. i play piano and clarinet right now and I don't want to give them up either. I have a lot of homework to do which doesn't leave me with loads of free time, but I think I can make it work. I want to play bassoon in my school's band at least two years from now...if possible.

Orchxdorkx3's sibling - the bass lines are important but boring, but it also means that you can sit back and enjoy the wonderful music the rest of the band makes around you.
There are some good songs out there for bassoon. If you find yourself totally bored I'm sure you could "borrow" the alto sax's music and play his part

GO FOR IT!

Definitely make the switch, I play Tenor Sax in Jazz and Flute in Marching (for now I play Sax in Marching as well due to instrumentation issues) then I played a little casual Clarinet and adding another instrument which was the Bassoon made it even better. Everything is confusing and hopeless at first, but later if you just practice some scales then the fingerings come in a snap. Further on you may forget some high note fingerings but everything comes together in the end. I started playing in December/January and now the director is letting me perform with the higher Wind Ensemble. Once your teacher actually has faith in your abilities he may throw a small solo your way. Also if there aren't any Bassoon parts you can do 2nd Trombone. The only bad part about Bassoon is putting it away, it takes FOREVER!

I played piano and flute too and I switched from flute to bassoon.

I found it really, really easy except for one thing- holding the embouchure after a while is very difficult

You shoudl be able to play in a grade 9-10 band after a bit over a month of practice, an 11-12 band after over half a year and beyond in at lest 1 year. More if you don't read bass or tenor, more if you are new to music, and way more if you don't solidly practice.

Good luck- bassoon is honestly so much fun
