I was just wondering if bassoon had graded levels such as the royal conservatory? Ive just been playing with an orchestra but would like to complete levels... if there are any, before i go to university. Thanks.

In UK boards such as ABRSM, Trinity and Guildhall do grades 1-8 (8 is 'advanced') for every instrument.

After that the same boards offer a variety of diplomas (eg performance) to take which are like professional qualifications but you need to be grade 8 or equivalent to take these. There are usually 3 levels of diploma you can get but they have to be taken in order.

Check out the exam board websites.

I don't know what grades are like in USA or elsewhere but I think ABRSM operates across the world.

I know Australia has the AMEB levels for all instruments, and singing (?).

There would be something for bassoon. There'd have to be.

Well, if you live in Canada, you can actually take Royal Conservatory of Music tests. I take for Piano and Saxophone, but if you've read my post, you realize my tone is crap and I could never pass. But you could try, assuming you don't sound like meXD
