There are also other members of the bassoon family which are lesser known and seldom played. They are the ophicleide in F and the sarrusophone in G. They are other variations on these also.

I just found out the octave bassoon is also called the alto bassoon, and because you can't have and alto bass (!!WARNING!! oximoron !!WARNING!!) We'll change that to altoon. We have the contrabassoon (contrafagotto) bassoon (fagott[the homo one is faggot]) tenoroon (fagottini)altoon and the ophelcide, sarrusaphone, contraforte (go to guntram wolf's (website) and we have yet to make sopranoons and piccoloons and sopraninoons and baritoons and suboctocontrabasoons and contrapianos and mezzo-sopranoons-I amd scared already :0
