For our Woodwind Quintet for solo and ensemble (a busy topic it seems) we are, as said, playing Khatchaturian's well-famed Sabre Dance. I get the introductory bass/drone sort of thing underneath, and was wondering if there is any other fingering that might make the octave jumps easier.

Also, there is the last ending that is basically a chromatic scale, so I'm guessing that it will only come along through practice. Any suggestions or tips for this piece would be great.

Sorry to be putting this up so late, but our quintet decided not to play the Sabre Dance, instead we're playing some piece from the 60's (?).
