Flutori.... no offense, but I beg to differ. Have you ever played on a Leitzinger? It's heaven on earth, dude.
$21k though. I played on one during Double Reed Day this year, holy crap it's got a smooth sound.

also, I haven't had the chance yet, but obviously there's the world-famous HECKEL. If I ever win the lottery, that's the first thing I'd buy. Then, I'd buy a vintage French system bassoon, and I'd use it as a wall display. I despise the French bassoon. It's too nasal, it's only pretty on a wall in a house or office. lol That's only my opinion.

The rock-star-bassoonist.. are you on crack. He's kind of bought the Schrieber... and he said it played better than his old one... so why did you start telling him about different bassoons?

Mark
Durham, north east England.
My bassoon is stamped Conn but they were only the distributors. I'm assured it's a Kohlert and I think I can date it roughly to 1954-55. Which makes it almost as old as me...
I've been playing for nearly 2 years and I see a very thoughtful, responsive and encouraging teacher. Just the person I needed to find.
