In actuality, I'm a sax player, and I'm performing a piece by Melvin Solomon "Sonatina for Soprano Sax and Piano" I thought I'd start a thread in the Bassoon forums since some bassoonists play Etudes to Spring.

In general, I would like any information about Melvin Solomon, woodwind player and composer. I've already emailed a few university professors who know him, but they don't know where he resides or even if he's still alive, and I'd like that information for program note information.

Can anybody help? I need to know if he's still alive, and if he is, where does he reside?

Thanks!

Try getting in touch with Southern Music. They publish a lot of his stuff.
