I am thinking about getting a Moosmann model 100A
Any feedback on these instruments or moosmann's in general? How do they compare with Fox?

I decided to get my 100A after hearing a bassoonist play a Nino Rota solo bassoon concerto on one in Vancouver - they will do everything you need to do. I haven't been disappointed.

Over the years they have improved & are now excellent instruments. (They weren't bad 25 years ago in the Kreul & Moosmann days). They are as well made as Fox - it's just a question of which sound you prefer.

so contra448 said it's a question of which sound you prefer... what's the main difference between fox (renard) sound and moosmann sound? I don't know much about the different brands of bassoons - I've been playing of poly renard and my teacher plays a renard 222
