If you want to study at one of the music colleges in London you will need to have passed exams to Associated Board grade 8 standard (I am sorry I don't know anything about the French system)as a minimum.
You would also need a much better instrument than an Amati to allow to to progress to a high level. How about buying a Buffet or Selmer 'basson' rather than staying with the'faggot'?
Maybe you could do an English course in London or other city & have private lessons for bassoon.

Good luck

All of the Selmer bassoons I have tried were complete junk. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

To the original poster: How funny. I hope to be fluent in FRENCH before I leave HERE. XD Welcome to the bassoon forums.

I was referring to Selmer Paris French system 'bassons' not Selmer Bindy US ones about which I agree with you.
