Hi. When I started playing bassoon, I didn't have anyone within a 1,000,000,000 radius who did(that I personally knew). Recently, I moved, and guess what? I still don't have known bassoon players any nearby star systems, and I was shocked to find out a 1/2 hour ago that bassoon goes higher than high E(I can't get it past high C unless I'm lucky)...
Could someone please explain how. I can't find any kind of fingering charts...

Thank You!!!!!!

Playing higher than E is for aliens only - many of us earthlings cannot even get that far!

Of course! (that explains why the page was mostly written in Vulcan) I had found many free online bassoon parts that featured the highest note being commonplace on the treble clef, notably: Kol Nidrei Basson and Piano (which I believe is a Jewish wedding song?)

Hi,

My first post on this board! This page:

http://www.idrs.org/resources/BSNFING/fingnote.htm

has lots of fingerings for super-duper high notes. Hope that's what you were looking for.

i can easily reach the high f, but not the high g because ive never needed to, and therefore never learned the fingering.
