GOOD LORD! WHY WON'T THIS THREAD DIE!! If you truly must march a bassoon, and will positively explode if you don't, use a BG bari sax harness - it works perfectly. WARNING TO THE WISE: playing a bassoon while standing can hurt! I played a small ensemble once standing (with the aforementioned harness) and someone walked into the bassoon! If you've never had a wooden blade shoved underneath your tongue, i do not recommend starting now. Extemely painful. A lot of blood. Just think : this was stationary- I would NEVER march a bassoon, especially since it can't be heard, it's dangerous, and bassoons are way to expensive to take a gamble like that!

Our Symphonic Band bassoonist has a $22,000 bassoon... so she joined color guard instead :-D. I saw a band that sorta marched bassoon in the sense that one of the drum majors went down on the field and played a bassoon solo without marching. I don't recall being able to hear it, though. Maybe if you microphoned it and stood in one place, it would be possible... otherwise, stick to another instrument.
