Do you know approximately how old it is? Does it give place of manufacture as Graslitz or Kraslice?

No idea on how old. My great aunt played it a long ass time ago and I played it from 1988 to 1994. No one since.

fascinating that I found this thread as I had some questions about my "antique" Kohlert. It's a Grazlitz. I've seen pictures of pre-WWI Kohlerts, which is what I have, It has a flat sided long joint and the pictures I've seen of old Kohlerts do not have the flattened long joint. Does anybody have information about it? Also, I sent my old Kohlert to Keith Bowen to work his magic on it and the instrument came back transformed.
It's intonation is better than my Fox 240, it's sound is bigger and it's a little brighter which is neither good nor bad. I'm not sure I have the perfect bocal for it though - doesn't everybody go through that? I've got a Fox "CV" that seems to work best. Thoughts?
