So as of the end of the school year, I have been playing on a brand new Fox bassoon. This bassoon is thread wrapped, which is different than the other bassoons I've used being cork wrapped. I've read that it isn't good to use cork grease on the thread, due to it getting dirty and gunky, as well as breaking down the threads over time. I went out and bought some paraffin wax, but now I'm unsure how to apply it. I read somewhere to melt it on with a hair drier, or just to rub it on. What is the best method?

Thanks!

That is Fox's reccommendation.

Thanks for the response, however my question was not answered. I'm wondering how to apply it... just rub it on? or heat it? or what?

I rub it on & then melt it in. Works for me.
