Hi - I'm a composer and I just wanted to ask if this bassoon part is playable in terms of finding enough time to breathe?

(Please note: tempo: crotchet = ca. 40 b.p.m, dynamics: piano, the staccato markings and the repeat)

It is playable. Crotchet at 40 BPM is time enough to take a large breath. As the dynamics is p and it is not in the lowest register it does not take very much air. In an orchestral setting we would probably be two bassoons, so we could take turns.

Many thanks for this ghellquist.

In this particular piece the other bassoonist is playing another part - so just wanted to check - you still consider it playable?
