have any of you accidentally torn it off when removing the bocal?

i feel so stupid. i`ve done it at least 3 times. *sigh*

i play clarinet so it`s instinct to have your thumb on the thumb key when taking apart the instrument. so sometimes i press the whisper key when i`m taking apart my basson and the bocal`s whisper hole where it juts out of the bocal hits my whisper key and often tears the pad a bit. so i end up taping it back together. i am so pathetic LOL...
