Hmmm... Even though I'm in the 8th grade, I could help. You need an "ear" for music. Some of the scores I've created where imporovision at first, but then I wrote them down. to help you,Listen to jazz trumpeters. then fool around on the piano (if you don't already don't know how to play it.) and learn that C, Bflat, G# , and F's are always good notes to back up on. Though this might not of helped, good luck. (=

i dont get wat u mean by the first two things in ur post but how do u improvise? just fool round at home on an easy jazz scale like c blues nd find out wat sounds good. from here go onto diff scales. listenin to lots of other improvisations also helps a bit. if u can hav a jam session with a mate where u jst do sum give nd take impro

Get Jamey Aeborsold books, every jazz player has them for a reason.

also, C Bb G# and F are not always good notes to play... and if you play a blues scale (which can sound really boring if that's the ONLY thing you play), make sure you are playing over a blues chord progression.
