Flute already is a jazz instrument! It is only the best jazz intrument ever! the problem is, most high school jazz bands dont play many songs with a written flute part. So i always either play vibes parts, transpose trumpet parts, or just improv the whole time. Actually its normally a mixture of the trumpet parts and improv. Just ask you band director if u can do that.... transposing is easy amd jazz band is really fun!

and ian anderson is amazing

I'm not in high school, but when I was in marching band earlier this school year we had some jazzy flute solos during our last song.

Try and compose your own jazz flute music with Finale Note Pad

It works quite well.

My bro plays Bass clarinet and he can't find any music so he composes his own.
