A student in gradeschool told me that her uncle and aunt live in Australia, and they have the tradition of having a barbecue/beach party every Christmas Day. Is that common?

Sounds cool, but what is it? I'm assuming it's a music group. (I have heard of a minor league baseball team in Tennesee called the Nashville Sounds.)

Yeah Barbeques, beach partys, swimming and seafood is becoming very common in Australia.
Though My famiy and I still had a traditional hot lunch, we do go swimming most years because up here it is so hot!

Well, it's winter here. It's way to cold to go swimming in a lake here, although I suppose you wouldn't have to swim if it was the Great Salt Lake. You float because the lake is saltier than the ocean. It's so cool! But it would still be cold... I guess I'd be open to the idea of a barbecue, though. (Deep fried turkey, man. Mmmmmmm.)

We have a couple options for indoor ones where I live. But they probably wouldn't be open on Christmas.
