I didn't. My sister and I were going to learn piano for the sake of learning piano- if we attempted piano and hated it, we could pick another instrument, but my mom wanted us to play at least one instrument. I fell in love with the piano and now play it of my own free will. I tried the flute in 5th grade because it looked pretty and I liked the sound, but I gave that up because I hate scales, and I had to practice scales day and night. How did I get past the first level in piano then, you ask? Pure torture every Sunday- and I hardly ever practiced. Thankfully, I am now well past the point where I have to practice scales, along with those horrible pieces from the Faber books. Fond but painful memories lol.
Out of curiosity, did anyone here have to learn from the Faber books, or was my evil Russian piano teacher the only one with that brilliant idea?
