having acquired a baritone without a mouthpiecce I have been using my trombone one. It plays reasonably well, but I do have some pitching probs,,and difficulty on higher notes.

Well, if you're using a size 12c mouthpiece for your 'bone, (which I don't recommend unless you're a beginner) get a bigger mouthpiece for your baritone. A 5g should suffice, with a 6 1/2 AL even better. I've found that 1 1/2gs work quite nicely on larger bore baritones.

Thank you for your reply.I do indeed use a 12C for trom. This came with trombone (King 3B) at purchase.Previously I used Rudy Muck 26 and changed on advice from shop.I did not perceive any difference playing trad jazz.

Sorry I do not recognise the mouthpieces you quote. I have in my acquired clutch of mouthpieces RM26,Denis Wick 10CS and a couple of anonymous ones; all feel simliar.

The baritone is an ancient silver Rosehill Perhaps this does not help. I shall persevere.

Thanks again. Regards, John.

Oh, sorry, all the mouthpieces I mentioned were Bachs. I'm a big fan of Bach mouthpieces.
