hey everyone,
I was starting to teach my bf how to read music before his unit was called to active duty. I would like a way for him to continue to learn while he is in Iraq but I`m out of ideas. I thought, when we write, that I could send a little tidbit at the end of each letter. Any ideas? Thanks

Oh! Darling , The Iraq is really a hell for the troops, I hope you can see your bf again.

You should buy a penny whistle, and mail it to him. They`re small, light and fairly quit, but you can actually play ALOT of music on them. They have a really good range.

Toasty has a good idea. If you can't find a penny whistle, get a recorder, a plastic one (a soprano or descant one) as there is tons of music written for recorder. I don't know about the fingering on the penny whistles but the recorder's fingering is pretty easy to learn and would make a good first instrument.
