it`s so strange that when i looked into a book with pictures of instruments i really wanted these intsrtuents:

1. oboe
2. bassoon
3. viola
4. cello
5. cor anglais

strange cuz other ppl think the are the `forgotten ones` (all except the cello and the bassoon maybe) i go to the oboe forum i hear about ppl making fun ov oboists, then i go to the viola forum... ... ... NO ONE`S THERE... lol. i guess i was born unique lol. i always chose the opposite thing than the rest ov my family... (and i`m not rebellious either) sometimes i wonder if i am adopted lol.

PS: i play clarinet (partly cuz my school has the `popular` band instruments) lol.

Your going too fast! 1-5 the Forgotten ones, you wanted those instruments? people making fun of oboists, it`s the same with flute. There`s people at the viola forum just not that often. You choose the opposite of what exactly?

I think it is very adventurous of you and no one should stop you (not even your family). I rekon that we really need to get across what instruments we love, so others can enjoy them too.

Hey~

i don`t really call those forgotten instruments!!!! those are some of the coolest!!! i play oboe, who makes fun of `em??? i never see that!!! oboes, bassoons, violas, etc. they`re all cool instruments and i don`t know why there aren`t more of them. i love the oboe, and the bassoon sounds great! as a matter of fact, i`ve been thinking of starting on the english horn (cor anglais) so i think they`re great!!!

you aint wierd at all. i play the oboe because i love it, and because i couldnt afford the cor anglais! i also play classical/spanish/flamenco guitar(another dying instrument, at least where i live in england), i love the bassoon, i play 5 string bass guitar (also quite rare in england), and im gonna start bass clarinet this month - it was either that or baritone sax. i do enjoy playing unusual instruments because, in my skool, its almost guaranteed that ill b the only one playing that instrument. also, each instrument has its own areas of music that it does well in, so it gives you a wider range of music that you can both play and appreciate.
