The hardest instrument? That`s easy. Its got to be the marching grand piano. Try carrying that in a parade.

Hello people.

Personally I don`t find the paino to be hard at all. I have composed many sonatas, marches and some symphonic works, as well as vocal pieces on the piano. I am 14 and I think piano is a great instrument to learn at a young age. The older you get, the harder it is to learn. I have just bought a Duduk, which is a beautiful instrument, but quite hard to get the hang of. I played guitar, electric and classical, and steel string, for five years, so they really aren`t hard at all in my opinion. Cello wasn`t hard at all for me either.

The Tabla. without a doubt. I play piano, electric guitar, classical guitar and doubek (arabian hand drum). Nothing comes close to tabla in difficulty. all the others can be learnt to a reasonable level of skill within about 6 months to a year (for me anyways). The tabla takes years to get anywhere with and a teacher is essential. On the plus side. If you master the tabla. Any other percussion instrument will be like a stroll in the park in comparison.

I didn`t say the piano was hard to play, I said it was hard to carry in a parade. Pay attention.

the hardest instrument to play must be the Armenian Duduk, it took me about 48 hours to just make one freakin sound on it! If you can play the Armenian Duduk you have also accomplished great under water swimming skills... you can hold your breath for longer than 1:30!

I play cello, clarinet, alto clarinet and a soprano, alto tenor sax, piano and the most dificult one is by far the alto clarinet, think about this how many people play alto clarinet? is there any sheetmusic to be found? it is the most uncorfortable yet beautiful instrument to play it sounds like a wind-cello.

violin/viola
String instruments are much more difficult to learn to play rather than Band instruments.

You would like to start the piano? Go For It! It's an amazin talent and its SO helpful...and enjoyable if you just want to do it for personal purposes! I have been playing for 5 years and it is really rewarding. A sense of acomplishment along with it!

hope this helps!

well i play clarinet, violin, cello, and piano. the violin is pretty dang hard. with brass and woodwinds, you just press one of those little button thingys and the note is perfectly in tune (most of the time) with the violin and cello, even if u put ur fingers a LITTLE BIT outta place, it'll sound craptastic. plus you have to press real hard on the cello strings. my order:

1. violin
2.cello
3.clarinet
4.piano

Your Voice is an insturment. And I'd have to say this is the hardest one to "play". Think about it. Many insturments may start out hard, but with practice they'll get eaiser. However, your voice is complicated because if you don't have is you don't HAVE it. Just like every insturment, if you practice you'll get closer to perfection. If you have a cold (or some other sickness) woodwinds and brass are harder. And they thake a heck of a lot of breath. Piano is complicated at first, but...not like voice!

haha!
i totally agree with the voice... anyone can play an instrument but not everyone can sing, for some people it is simply impossible because they are tone deaf... voice is for sure the hardest
