could anyon eexplain the me the notes of each string represent? I am just starting to play. I use to play in 4th grade but that was about a long time ago.... :-)

the strings are as follows: G-D-A-E

More specifically, the a ia 440 hz, the e is 660 hz, the d is 293-1/3 hz, and the g is 195-5/9 hz

Note that except for the a-440, the other notes are not quite the same as a piano

Personally I`d recommend that you get a teacher, at least at first, because if you learn bad habbits now they are very hard to break. This is a good site though:
