Hi all,
I am a new-ish violin player and have looked on Ebay, read message board posts, etc., on how to get a good instrument, what it should cost, etc., and was pretty confounded. I really wanted to find an instrument that would be of good quality but not out of a Chinese factory as I have read that they are very good sometimes and not so others.
Anyway, I came across in my reading some people very happy with their purchases from
http://www.sharondeestrings.com and decided to take a chance. I called first, hemmed and hawed, but Sharon is really selling nice European instruments and equipment for a good price. She sets each one up herself, held my hand through it all, and my instructor is out of her mind impressed with the deal I got on a very good instrument that was ready to play the minute I got to my lesson. My instructor is recently retired from Indianapolis Orchestra, and I trust her opinion here.
I'm not try to advertise for anyone, but I really went around and didn't know what to do, and what she is selling seems exceptional. I just read and read, bit my nails, but couldn't spend a fortune. I bought the Victorio model and don't see myself needing an upgrade for a long time, if ever.
So, if there are others out there like me, its at least worth a look I think.
Matt
