Try Book Wagon in Megamall or Rockwell. The price may go beyond P500. The tape is bought separately. New publication of which has audio CD accompaniment but it is rarely available here. How about photocopy of the Suzuki book? I have CD`s too!

I agree. Such crafts and artistic paths require a great degree of dicipline and focus not to mention talent. One must be gifted a natural. The problem here is only a few hold such positions and they are not necessarily the gifted ones. There are great and gifed filipino talents in music and arts but they are never given a chance to hold thier light and unless a sollution is done no significant contribution can be expected. In my observation filipinos musicians not all of course are very well educated but not necessarily gifted. MUSIC is a gift and one`s talent can only be taken so far. They are a lot of talented and gifted Filipinos, great musicians. Some of them just can"t take the hipocrasy that shadows our society. Thank you for your comments and observations. May it enlighten us and make us realize the need for change.

Thank you for the response. As your name suggests, you are a thread of light to the "blinded with pride filipino musicians" especially in the Orchestra (where corruptions even there exist) that I hope starting with you, the Light will vanquish such gap. But even so such introspection addresses the problem, the pride of the Culprits is in their veins - impossible to turn the tide unless miracles sets in. When it does, the Philosophic war is won then.

It is unwise to say China is obsolete. Look at us in Beijing & compare it to your corruption-ladden country. Our contributions are great. We have many Violin makers which Violins you cannot afford & sounds are great & imminently superb. Yours are few & panget tunog. Mahal pa!

Im part Japanese yet i respect China`s greatness and contribution to the world. Your nation is important to the future of Asia just as Japan is.

You are correct and a friend told me about one of thier bands named orange and lemons, They released a song that turned out to be a song of a foriegn band named the care. They copied the melody and song they just changed the lyrics and used it in a show called pinoy big brother, which is suppose to show what filipino are. I think that is not right, more of cheating. And listen to filipino music and musicians what do you think are they good?

Hi im very interested in filipino jazz violinist, Jazz for the violin is very difficult one has to have a perfect technical abilities with excellent improvisation skills not to mention good sight reading skills also. I was attracted to this forum because of its title, it has the word jam and violinist. I have heard two filipino violinist claiming to be jazzers. One is Jon Lesaca the other jay cauca i have heard thier cd`s and listened to thier music and it is nearer to rock than to jazz. It is ok music but not extra ordinary. I was not impressed.no sophisticated sound.not to mention very beautiful and perfect tone, perfect intonation.I was wondering if there is a really extra ordinary jazz violinist in your country, or if you are capable having a extra ordinary gifted jazz violinist. Jazz playing is a very mature and intellectual art it involves talent and inborn gift. That is why many attempt but few succeed. I am sorry i just really love jazz and would be happy one day a really good and extra ordinary violinist would come from you. sorry for my english not so good.
