ya i agree with the person above me. there's no real way to play vibrato, you just have to practice and practice until you find the most effective way for you. by the way, i believe there is 3 types of vibrato
arm vibrato- using your entire arm to do it
wrist vibrato- self-explanatory
finger vibrato- well, with your finger only
the way I do vibrato is a mixture of all three. i dunno how to explain it, but explore different ways to do it, and hopefully, pretty soon, you'll find a way that works for you

Vibrato is perfected by starting which two vibrations of your finger per bow stroke. Vibrato is easiest in the fourth position, because in first position you have to move your finger farther back. On fourth position, when you are doing vibrato, a vibration is done by rocking your finger one half step back. Not a whole step, just a half. Like I said, start gradully, which only two rocks back and forth per bow stroke. Then move to four, then eight. With time, you will be able to add vibrato to any note you play. I am 12 years old. I have been playing for almost six years, and my teacher is the best one I could find; she plays worldwide and is known for her skills in lots of places. That is her vibrato method, and it has been working for me!
