Hi guys, this is my first post, so a little introduction.

I've been playing flute and violin for 4 years, along with alto sax for a year, currently a first flute in my HS concert band, and taking private violin lessons.

I was just wondering what brand violin do you have, and made in where? The quality of the instrument (wear and tear/quality of tone) etc.

I'll start off with mine, I own a Chinese made violin, the brand is Pearl River (yes, you probably don't know it). It produces a very nice tone, but I've experienced certain problems with it such as the bridge going out of place so much that I had to unstring all the strings and make it upright again (I don't know if this happens a lot to you guys, it only happened once to me).

I started with a Chinese violin that had fallen from the back of a lorry (at least it sounded like it). That was the 1st of October 2004. On the 18th of March 2005 I got a real violin, a Romanian Gliga, it's quite nice, but my teacher keeps saying I'll have to get a better one in a year or so again.

Hello, I Have a Maestro, beginers Violin. The leaflet I have on it says it was made in Germany, but the little slip of paper on the inside says Romania, so...
I have had no problems with it, except it will shink If left in some place cold, (like an empty house in the winter) and got out of tune. but That probably isn't unsusual.

Mine is a Otto Jos Kleir, it was made in germany, but i'm going to get a custom made one later
My teacher has alot of violins, and when I was playing in a concert (I'm the principal violin and she is the conductor) my G string sliipped, as I tuned it it fell off. So she gave me her (good) copy of a strad and that was beautiful to play on

Also, I wen to orchestra one day forgetting my violin, so she gave me her other one

Playing it is weird-it's so resonant your whol collarbone vibrates

I've had three different voilins since I started playing. Two of them, I can't remember the type. I know one was an unmarked student voilin, maybe handmade and the other was a peice of junk anyways. lol

My current voilin which I love and is the best voilin I've ever had or played, is a Romeo and was made in italy.

i have had 2 violins - both St. Antonio's. it is the perfect violin - great sound, great balance, great tone. the only thing is the finger board is a little too big

the slip in my body says e-tunes supplies, I like it, for what it is, but when I get better and need a more proper instrument, I will purchase one, more than likely from Johnson String Instrument

I own a German full-size.It has a beautiful tone. It's new so the strings slip sometimes but I'm sure it will sort itself out soon.It also looks nice and it doesn't show up rosin which means you don't have to clean it much.HURRAY!!!
