When I was 10 years old I played the violin. After a year I stopped, because I didn't liked it anymore. After that I tried to other things, ballet and horse riding, I didn't liked it very much, so I quit that 2. By that time I was 14 years old. Now I'm 17 years old and I really want to start playing the violin again. But I'm afraid if I ask my parents they will say no, because they don't trust me anymore, they think I won't like it after a while. I'm willing to pay half of the money the lessons are gonna cost, but does someone can give me some arguments I can say to my parents so I can convince them that I really want this?

Hello!!!! I was in the same position as you! I am 17 years old, too. I play piano for seven years. i didn't want to play it anymore so i took guitar and mandolin in one orcestra. i play that for 2 years already and i enjoy it really! but,my big dream always was violin. one problem more was that I couldn't buy it by myself cause I had only 100$,and more-i live in small villiage where is no teacher. i was so afraid to ask them cause i knew what will say. i wated for 8 months to ask them finally,i did it. i told them that i will learn it by myself, with help of internet, that i have 100$. i told them that violin is my biggest dream and i want to play it,and nothing will stop me to do it. they were pretty mad when i told them and they didn't listen to me. but i did it and did it and they saw that i am serious so they finally saidkay,we will do it,just don't be so boring!!! and they didn't regret it! i bought it one week ago and i am sooo happy! i'm doing it just great! don't give up of your dream, violin is an amazing instrument,it is so magical and beautiful that i can't even stop looking at it! just do it and insist. BE BORING! good luck and keep us with your progress! just ask if you need anything!

You could show your determination by practising violin hard and affording part of the cost.
It might be helpful to prevail upon your parent.
good luck!
