I have been playing piano for about 10 years, and play a little guitar and flute. I have taken the plunge and got a violin, and plan to teach myself (I know some of you think that this is a bad idea!). However, I can`t seem to find any beginners books that don`t spend most of it explaining notation, key signatures, etc that I already know. Is there a book out there that is fairly comprehensive with finger positions, etc, that anyone can recommend? Or a DVD - not VHS because I don`t have a VCR anymore.
Thanks.

Good luck searching! About every violin book assumes that you know nothing about music. Your best bet is to just get a book and skip all the parts that are useless to you.
