yeah. i'm a wind player, but as we were cleaning the music library, we found a stash of sad looking violins coated in dust atop some shelves. aaand i got to take one :D it's 3/4 size, according to my friend's mom who was overseeing our cleaning effort and apparently is a string player, but thats all i know about it.

the bridge says "BAUSCH" on it, and the inside has a label with C. Meisel printed on, then handwritten: 6109 3/4 (a word i can't read) 63813
and a sticker in the top corner of the label inside that reads "Romania"

i've found the meisel website, but they don't have any sort of serial number lookup that i can find. anyone know where i can find something like that? i'm just curious how old it is and stuff, i have no idea how long it's been lurking on top of that shelf!

oh, and i tuned it, mostly for kicks and giggles as i neither have a bow nor would know what to do with it even if i did. :P

You really need to check out what size you are...(you should be 4/4)....
If this violin is valuable, you may want to check with specialist about it's condition and it's essential value.
If you are wanting to play it, then you will need to probably make some adjustments to the strings and such.
If it is about 300 years old...then you should get a Really good price..(i'd say 5,000)???
depending on the brand of course..and you aren't be too detailing about that..
tell me what happens if you check...i'm curious....

find a luthier (violin maker) they should be able to value it and tell you about meisel. or see if there is a contact email on the website and email them the info. they should have it on record somewhere. im currently going through the opposite, a strings player who got an old wooden flute. there are no markings!
