I have acquired an old violin (about 20 over years old). It's an old Suzuki, usable, but the fingerboard color is badly faded and the body is sticky (melted rosin I suppose)

What I am I do with it? I want to know the easiest way to get it cleaned up and ready for use.

I live in a country where resources for instruments are not widely available, or very expensive.

The easiest and safest option would be to take it to a professional maker, and have that person restore it. Plus, they can give you the value of the instrument and tell you its history. If you don't have anyone local, you can usually arrange to ship it.

Woah that would cost... a lot. I'm not sure my pocket money can cover that
