I`ve desperately tried to get the violin part from El Tango de Roxanne but I haven`t been successful yet. I hope I will be soon. I got in contact with a firm that professionally transcribes all sorts of Tango music for all sorts of instruments and they told me they could also transcribe the violin part from the Soundtrack. Well, I don`t know any details yet and I don`t know either if the costs will be too high for me. Let`s see. I`ll tell you when I know more.

I have found the legendary sheet music of El Tango de Roxanne. It is copyrighted;therefore, can be sold nowhere in America. However it can be found at www.musicroom.com . This sight is in England, and the song is only withing the official moulin rouge book. The song is in their and i have played it myself. It is in piano form, and rather hard, but if you are a talented musician you should be able to play what you need according to your instrument. This book causts about 36 bucks,,, 16 pounds. I did some research on the people that wrote this lovely tune and found that MARIANO MORES wrote it based on an old Tango called "Tanguera." If you can find this piece, it has the main melody of "El Tango de Roxanne," however, it is not exactly what we are looking for.

i`m confused!!! so can you not get the violin music afterall from the piano book?how`s the transcribing going?will it be copywrited? if so, how will we all get it? as you can see my brains all in a twist about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The "Tanguera" by Mariano Mores that I found is piano only. I am assuming that the great violin part that we are looking for is likely not part of that. (I have not purchased it, so don`t know.)

the person who can do the transcription came back to me with a price. He can do the transcription of the violin part (violin solo and the part of the violin you can hear in the background while Ewan McGregor is singing the chorus "Why does my heart cry...") from the Soundtrack of the film for about 100,- US Dollar. What do you think about it? Do you have any idea if and how we could share the costs?
