Hi , I am a violin dealer so,I`ll give you my thoughts. The violin you showed there is not bad. I have taken some like it on trade-in. I just don`t think that you are getting the best for your money. also it most likly would not get you any farther then high school.
The case that comes with that violin, I buy in China for $6.00. so keep in mind you will need a new case in about a year.
I have sold violins and violas to semi-pros and violin teachers, they were very happy with them, for from $250.00 to $650.00. I see that is in you price range. So you can get better violins for your money.
I would hope you would email me and let me send you some more information and pictures of my violins. I have much better cases too.

The first thing to consider when you're purchasing a violin is what type of sound you're looking for.
I would suggest that you look into getting a violin that is made in China. They are less expensive because they're cheaper for the manufactorers to make. Not that all Chinese-made violins are great, but you should look for one made with German wood, and always test it before you buy. You may also want to visit the shar music website: www.sharmusic.com contact the violin experts about what type of instrument will best suit you and your needs. Tell them what you're looking for as far a sound and price range.

I hope you have a successful search!

I will try contacting shar music. I really don't want to get a Chinese violin. Here is another violin I am looking at. If you know anything about it please tell me.

You have to be happy with your violin. I think if you are shure you don`t want a Chinese violin. You can`t go rong on the Otto Ernst Fischer Bianca Violin . It should have the sound you are looking for.

I am looking for a warm sweet sound, not harsh. My violin teacher and I will look around local areas for violins to, maybe to the city, but I would perfer local.

I would always advise trying out several before making any decisions. No two accoustic instruments sound the same. When shoppingfor an accoustic guitar a few years ago, I played about 25 of them at GC. In the end, the best sound came from a $500 Washburn over the $1000 - 2000 Martins or Gibsons etc. Happy hunting.
