I have a Antonius Stradivarius Copy - Made in Czecho-Slovakia. I know the lady who owned it. She got it from her parents when she was 9. She is now 91. It is missing some string and some of the parts are broken off. I do have all the parts and she has two bows with the case. Anybody Interested?? Contact me at janderau@yahoo.com

I would like to start playing the violin. I was thinking of getting a Stradivarius copy. Are some copies better than others?
Are there any to stay away from?
Where would the best source for an older one be? I am a bit leary about ebay sometimes.
Would a new one be as good as an older one?
Finally is a Stradivarius copy worth holding out for?
Just a side note my are is 22 inches placing me between 1/2 and 3/4. I am leaning toward the 3/4 end of the spectrum.
Any help would be greatly appriciated,
Thanks

Elizabeth,
I am 23 years old and about 4 ft 11 inches tall. The manager where I work measured my arm lenth from the middle of left hand to the left side of my neck with a tape measure and said it came out to exactly 22 inches.

you`re not going to get what i would call an intermediate level violin for that money, but my definition could be different to yours. But go to http://www.violinslover.com - you will get a Gliga within that price range, and it will be much better than risking money on an ebay purchase, which is about your only chance of a decent old violin.

Ok. Why all the posts of "I have a Stradivarius copy" and "it cost 200 pounds" or whatever?
Like I said before, *every* violin out there made in a factory is a "Stradivarius" copy. It means absolutely *nothing*.
