If you are a violin player please answer this. Tell me the name (brand) of your violin, and any good things or things wrong with your violin. Any info is helpful. Thanks.

I have 90 violins ( I am a dealer) so I have a good number to pick from.

The one I play the most is a Lark Made 1927 in Shanghia China. It has a smoth, worm dark sound. Not to much volume, but I only play for my own enjoyment.

My 17 year old daughter is playing on a ( top of the line ) Kapok brand Violin.

It was made in 2003 in Gaungzhou China. That Violin is much brighter and the volume is amasing.
It is cleer and sweet. Her teacher told her that this violin (Chines) Is better sounding than the $7,000.00 late 1800`s Violin she ( Teacher) is playing.

Good luck in your finding the right violin for you. I think you need to try them all befor you buy them. It is not how High the price is that will say how good they sound!!

I payed $20.00 for my Lark in 2005.I payed $350.00 for my daughters violin . I picked it up myself from the factory in Gaunzhou China.

My new violin was made in China by one person.
When you get a violin have someone play it for you as well as yourself. If you are thinking about playing the violin and don't know anything, don't trust the dealer! I bought my 1/2 size and the dealer said "This should be the right size" and that was all! (My violin teacher is very nice and he didn't have nothing good to say about him.) Have a violinist come with you for your first time.

I don't know what brand my violin is but I know it has been in my family since the late 1800's (maybe earlier). It was handmade in Europe (my family is from Spain, however there weren't many Spanish makers during that time period, so it is likely it's Italian.) I love the dark sound of it, too.

I have a Stradivarius #304, but I'll be selling it soon to get a full size.
My first violin was an Eastman.
