is there anyway to practice fingering positions without your violin with you? because I want to practice anywhere at anytime but I can't bring it everywhere with me and even if i could it I am scared it would get hurt. so is there a way? I know this sound REALLY stupid but I'm just wondering if there is????

I do it all the time. I just grab a book or something like that, hold it w/ my RH and use my LH
as if though it were on my violin. Or, I play "air violin". Just turn your hand as if it were on the violin and practice. I esp. do this when sight reading. I hope I'm making sense to you.
