Hi all, i am quite new to violin. Am an adult beginner and currently exploring different violins. Anyone can advise me on karl hofner violin? How is the quality like?

I am looking at karl hofner 7 violin, made in 1997 according to the words inside. Is it suitable for beginners? What price will be reasonable for that series? Thanks a lot!

I hadn't the faintest idea, but I googled and found this reasonably lengthy discussion: https://www.violinist.com/discussion/thread.cfm?page=134.

Hey Karl,

Since you are a beginner so it seems like it will suffice your requirement if the playability is good. But its more of a risk because old instruments are usually better than modern ones but they are kept inactive for so long that they lose their playability and need repair.

Hopefully, it will help you make a good decision because, in the end, it's all upon you.

best of luck!

Hello,
pleased to hear you got into the violin fever
Does it has to be a Karl Hofer one? If you are flexible in terms of manufacuring you can browse here for a good overview of decent starter kits:

Found mine there few years ago and still glad I used these rather than buying without any adwise.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
