don`t you worry about that at all, of course i`ll be back.

i gotta learn how to play the damn thing remember!!

one quick question, well more like confirmation - when i first rosin the bow (breaking it in) how long should i go for? i hear some people say 5 mins, some say 10-15, i`ve seen others say 30-60 mins.... any ideas?

That sounds a tad exessive. One of my bows came rosined (nice bonus). The other didn`t...I maybe ran my rosin over the hair 20 times for the first go at it...

...then as you play, the rosin works itself between the individual strands...

...so for the first few days you might rosin a tad more than `normal`...you`ll quickly get a feel of how much you need to get a good sound...

...after that...don`t rosin too often...I`m playing about an hour a day lately and am still only putting on a little rosin once or at most twice, a week...

...but do make sure that if you`re using a brand new rosin that you`ve scratched or otherwise roughed up the surface...otherwise the rosin won`t come off it and onto the bow!!!...

what way is best - scratched with something like a key, or scored with sandpaper?

My new, unrosined bow took a couple of minutes before it took and then a few more strokes before it began to really bite.

You don`t want to over rosin and you won`t break anything by playing with too little so give it, say, 20 strokes and try. If nothing, another 20 or, if there`s something there another 10 and try again and work your way like that.

I never ever score rosin, and so new rosin on a new bow really would be anything up to half an hour.

I have a Gliga Maestro and am very happy with it. A friend also has one and also is very happy with his.

It is capable of good tone, has good volume. In short I love my Maestro. A very good violin for a very reasonable price. My teacher say`s it`s a fine instrument.

They have a store in LA. I went there and tried them all. They were very helpful. Every violin sounds different. So being able to pick mine out really helped. I spent 2 days mulling over which one to get! It`s a beautiful instrument, very good tone.

My name is Kristen and I recently traveled to Romania. I spent the day in Reghan looking at violin factories. I have been playing the violin for 10 years now. I am only 17. I decided to purchase a Gliga one-piece back instrument with case and bow for 1600$.
Now that I see the prices on the Internet I feel like I have been taken advantage of, considering things in Romania are generally cheaper. I sill feel like I got a good instrument but I just thought you all would like to know you are getting a deal.
