I recently purchased Oliv strings for my violin but do not know much about them. I currently use Evah Pirazzi strings after trying many different sets such as the Lars_n strings and the Obligato strings. I was wondering if anyone knew what the Oliv`s will sound like or how they compare with the current strings I use. I was also curious on how to put on the strings, I am not all that sure which strings are the A, D, or G. It sounds dumb but they look the same and arn`t marked other than by numbers such as 13 and 3 quarters, 17 and 1 quarter, and 16 and 1 quarter. The E string is labeled and has a loop end, one of the other strings has a ball such as on a regular string but the other 2 have odd loops on them that arn`t of metal. Please reply with any information on how to apply these strings to my violin.

I have a new 5 year old student who is left handed. Should I restring her violin, or teach her to play the usual way?
