I have attempted several times today to upload a Sibelius file to the site. I have done so successfully many times in the past but today a message keeps popping up stating 'wrong file type'. I have managed to upload MP3 and PDF versions but not the sib one. Any ideas anyone? (Also, is there a way of contacting the site administrators directly?).

Hi Stephen - sorry you are having difficulties - are you saving the sib files as version 5?

No, this one and all the others are sib.6. Can I send the file directly to you to check it and maybe upload it for me? (I've just tried to email you at 8notes.com_admin but my mailer fails to recognise such an address.
Many thanks,
Stephen

Can you try opening them in sibelius and then selecting 'save as' and selecting sibelius 5. That should do it I think.

Have just done as you suggest and tried to upload a sib.5 version...same response "sorry, wrong file type".

If that fails, the email is here: http://www.8notes.com/help/contact.asp
(avoiding writing it out here to avoid spam)

Problem solved - many thanks David. For anyone following this the answer is to save as SIB3 before uploading.
