I think i should change the tone for the last three posts....They are a bunch of manufactured whingers who wouldnt know musicality if it hit them in the face...though i have a friend who is a fan and on a good note the lead singer has an ok voice and 'you know what they do to guys like us in prison' is a good song but give me Queens of the stoneage any time ova this

I hate My Chemical Romance. The last time I checked, most of their fans were calling them emo. And they also called Green Day "punk" even though Green Day was never punk to begin with. Emo, punk, and goth have been turned into teenage trends.

<Added>

well, goth was always a trend.

punk was never meant to be anything more then a small group of misfits joined together cuz of alienation and that's what green day is about so you are wrong, they are about as punk as it gets these days. P.S. I am a fan of My Chemical Romance and have many friends who like them too and i have NEVER heard anyone call them emo, like i said before i know emo (MCR are called "post hardcore")

Punk was originaly a name for a trouble maker or a bully. And then it was turned into the trend of misfits that you're talking about. And a music genre started (I'm not sure if the trend or the genre came first).

Green Day started in the 70's as Adult Alternative, with a different band name. Recently they started aiming their albums towards younger people along with adults, so they came out with AI (supposed to be a "punk" album). They ended up losing alot of their older fans and gaining a bunch of preteen fans.

Either way, I've never really cared for Green Day that much.

<Added>

Green Day's new music isn't punk either. It more pop-rock or "bubblegum rock".

I agree with what cphifer said. Alot of bands and singers only do a small portion of whats done on their album. The rest is computerized and added in later. Thats why they sound terrible in concert

The only difference between a band like MCR and a boy band is that the members of the band can play a few chords on a guitar and boy band can accually do alittle bit of singing. Other than that there's not much difference.

Am I saying that a good band never sounds different in concert? No. Sometimes there can be an echo (generally in inside concerts) and there's a certain part of the stage where the musician can't hear themselves playing so they play louder than they're supposed to. So sometimes the different dynamics can cause the song to sound slightly different. but if they're a good band, it'll still sound good anyway.
