How the hell is `Nevermind` your favorite album of all time? How lame are you? Could you possibly think of a more cliche answer...? Who are you? Carson Daly?

`Nevermind` was nothing & is still nothing compared to the likes of `Ten`, `Dirt`, `Superunknown`, & `OK Computer`... It wasn`t even original, it was just a rehash of the same style the Pixies were doing long before.

How about you get some individuality instead of copying Rolling Stone magazine or VH1?

Wait, maybe Nevermind is number 1 on my list cause it`s filled with great songs that i love, including possiblythe best song of the last 25 years in Smells Like Teen Spirit (even if you don`t like it, it`s the most influential song in a LONG time)
As for your retarded little pixies rip off comment, it`s called INFLUENCE. Every artist is influenced by someone. Cobain was influenced by the soft-loud style of the Pixies and wrote better songs than the Pixies could ever have dreamed of (Monkey gone to Heaven is the only one that even comes close to anything on Nevermind) I guess I`m so cliche because I love an album that is loved by so many people, sorry, I`ll just change my answer next time because so many people like it.

OK computer is nothing compared to The Bends, even though Radiohead`s best song (Paranoid Android) is on there, as an album it`s not even close.

Pearl Jam is the most overrated grunge band ever. Nuff Said. The crap they play was annoying the second time i heard it.

Dirt was a good album by a good band in Alice in Chains, but nothing spectacular.

Superunknown is definitely in my top 20, fantastic album, can`t argue with you there.

I guess I should just find random albums that aren`t that well liked next time so I`m not so cliche. You`re gonna find Beatles albums on a bunch of top 10 lists, so I guess all those people are unoriginal by posting what albums are actually their favorites instead of not being themselves for the sake of unoriginality.

The Pixies one good album, Doolittle, has about 3 good songs on it. Monkey gone to heaven is the only one they ever wrote that could lyrically stand with anything cobain wrote.

Metallica- The Black Album: The only album I can listen to without skipping a song. This was Metallica in their prime, and is the reference point for bands that want to make an album that is as emotional and thoughtful, as it is heavy.

Van Halen- 1984: Panama, Hot For Teacher, and Jump; need I say more?

Led Zeppelin- IV: John Paul Jones said it best, "No one compared to Black Sabbath after IV".

Guns N` Roses- Appetite For Destruction: If you ask me, the greatest rock debut album ever. Also has my all time favorite ballad, "Sweet Child O`Mine".

Pearl Jam- Ten: Unbelievably emotional music, Eddie Vedder`s best vocals ever. Second only to Appetite as the best debut album ever.

Nirvana- Nevermind: While it`s only true, timeless gems are the singles (Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, Lithium, In Bloom), no 90`s album comes close in terms of influence and importance.

Soundgarden- Superunknown: Narrowly beats Badmotorfinger as their masterpiece. While it does include my 2 favorite songs by them (Black Hole Sun & Spoonman), Superunknown is best listened to as a whole.

Alice In Chains- Dirt: The darkest, most nihilistic, most sorrowful, most misery-filled album I`ve ever heard, by far. I love it.

Red Hot Chili Peppers- BloodSugerSexMagik: This one set the pepper`s legendary status in stone.

Rush- Moving Pictures: The most thoughful, and intelligent rock music ever written. Songs like Tom Sawyer and Limelight send shivers up my spine to this day.

Motley Crue- Dr. Feelgood: While the Crue`s music was much more fun than it was artistic, this album is truly awesome. The title track, has some of the best drumming you`ll ever hear.

The Who- Who`s Next: It is in a word, legendary. My words can`t do it justice.

Bon Jovi- Slippery When Wet: I dare anyone, to listen to this album, and tell me there wasn`t some passion driving the hair metal movement.

Deep Purple- Machinehead: Great singer, great drummer, great guitarist, great songs. Purple had it all.

Queensryche- Empire: As shocking as it may seem, I think this album is carried by songs like Empire, Jet City Woman, and Another Rainy Night (Without You), as opposed to Silent Lucidity.

Pantera- Vulgar Display Of Power: While I think Cemetery Gates (a song on Cowboys From Hell), is their best song, Vulgar Display is undoubtedly Pantera`s best album.

Whitesnake- Whitesnake: While it is largely carried by Still Of The Night (One of the greatest 80`s metal songs ever, ever), it is all in all a very good album.

Faith No More- The Real Thing: One word, Epic.

ZZ Top- Eliminator: While much more pop-esque than their other material, this is ZZ Top`s finest work.

At the time, the Beatles were VERY unaccessible by the time the album YOU listed, `Sgt Peppers` was released - Before the album, the double vinyl record single for `Strawberry Fields Forever` & `Penny Lane` was released. While critics loved it, it really surprised the majority of their audience & at the time was considered extremely unaccessible, although it`s hard to hear that today. `Sgt Peppers` was released & sold roughly 250,000 copies its first week... Not exactly impressive - To put that in comparison, Pearl Jam`s second album, `Vs` (the fastest selling album ever at one point) sold 1 million copies its first week - The Beatles constantly caught everyone offguard with just how unaccessible their music was - That`s why they`re so legendary today...

You can`t deny Nirvana`s rapid decrease in popularity the last 3 or 4 years. There are definitely more people coming out & saying Nirvana wasn`t that good & are overrated today than a few years ago. `Doolittle` is definitely NOT the only good album by the Pixies... You`re just used to generic, cheesey "smells like teen spirit" songs & you can`t stand the real thing with real punk energy.

Cobains lyrics mostly revolved around one thing - Himself - The only exception I can think of is `Polly`. He LOVED singing about himself... What could possibly be easier? Whereas artists like Eddie Vedder wrote lyrics from multiple points of view.. Whether its from the point of view of a teacher/classmate in `Jeremy`, or from a woman in `Betterman`, or from a little girl in `Daughter`... He had a much larger & still has a much larger artistic mind...Frank Black`s diversity aswell is off the charts compared to Kurt`s.

I guess people like you love to hear musicians who only sing about themselves, because all you think about is yourself.

Frank Black of the Pixies had no one to rip off. Kurt was a rip off of everyone. Big difference.

Wait, so I`m guessing that Please Please me and A Hard Day`s Night are unbelievably unaccessable. Before you go running your retarded mouth maybe you should acknowledge that there were 2 phases in the Beatles career. In Revolver and Sgt. Peppers on, they got a little psychedelic and more out there. But people started to go absolutely NUTS about the Beatles when they released singles such as I want to hold your hand and She Loves You. Those songs are unbelievably unaccessable, as I`m sure you, in all of your infinite knowledge know. This was the phase of their career where you could tell how INFLUENCED they were by Buddy Holly. See that, Influence, not rip-off. The Beatles got weird later in their careers, after grabbing the world by the balls with the greatest accessable pop songs ever written, but even then they released singles like Hey Jude which were completely accessable to the mainstream.

Enought with the Beatles, you think the Pixies have PUNK ENERGY? No no no no, the Sex Pistols and Ramones had punk energy. No one was able to replicate the PUNK ENERGY of these bands until Nirvana. Please, deny that Nirvana had punk energy. Kurt Cobains voice was the best punk voice since johnny rotten. There`s actual emotion in that voice, much more so than anything ever written by the pixies.

And as for Cobain singing about himself, that was part of the beauty of nirvana, people could put themselves in cobain`s position and identify with the songs. Cobain`s music destroyed hair metal and turned a nation of kids into punk rockers. They could identify with his lyrics. Did the pixies have that effect w/ their music? I think not. And he wrote great goddamn songs. Do you think the !***!ed off teens of that era wanted to hear Eddie Vedder rant about even flow or kurt cobain blow them away? And after contemplating it, Nevermind may also sound accessable by today`s standards, but if you tell me you thought this was an accessable album when u first heard it you`re a lying sack of !***!. When Smells like teen spirit first hit the radio it was like, wow, this is something differet. By now they may sound accessable because the songs are so great they still get played. But Nirvana started Grunge. They started a whole musical revolution, in the same vein as Hendrix and The Ramones. And you don`t do that by writing bad songs.
