IMO they are pretty good.

I have no idea what everyone has against Boulevard of broken dreams. It's a good song, though sometimes feel the versus are missing something. Listening to a song that reminds you of how your dreams let you down is a bit depressing, but thats life at the end of the day.

Another good song is Good riddance (time of your life), though I wouldn't classify that as a rock song.

Green day has never sucked so get over the fact that they're better than you. And fallout boy isn't emo, their punk pop.

greenday isn't that bad...but i dislike their slow songs, time of your life and that september song. But i have a lot of their songs downloaded and everything. their really good musicians if you ask me, but i love rock...im all opinionated...but don't be putting them down unless you've heard all of their music...
