My friend and I have been playing electric guitar together since August 2005... We are both self taught / taught each other. Therefore we're at more or less the same playing ability.

We are at the point now were we want to play with others (drummer, bassist: at least) but finding someone to play with is impossible, mainly due to the fact that everyone else we know doesn't like the same artists i.e. Black Sabbath, Metallica etc..

We don't know how to find people or whether they should be into the same music.. Should it stay as just us two? Everyone recommends playing with a band is the best... We thought about putting an advert up but where? and is that the right way??

One more thing... Finding a good place to play also can be a bit of a problem...

Can anyone give us advice?
