Did anyone here who saw Panic recently see them when they were with The Dresden Dolls and The Hush Sound? They're my two current obsessions. I've been a fan of the DD for a while now and am a little partial towards them because I met them on their tour bus and chatted with them for a while. Plus Amanda Palmer kicks tons of butt. I love anyone who plays piano.
But The Hush Sound are my newest obsession. Again, it's the whole piano thing that gets me going. I'm going to see them again this Saturday with Murder By Death, another excellent band. But The Hush Sound sounds a whole lot like Panic. They have that fun pop sound to them, and they have the whole female/male lead vocals thing going on which is always fun.

I was watching Steven's Untitled Rock Show and the Panic boys were on, and even they said they don't like how their music is overplayed. It's not really their fault. They can't control how much MTV and other people play their music.
I might have said this before, I don't remember and I'm too lazy to go back through the posts and look...

Okay, Firstly, I just want everyone to know that I am saying this only to state my opinion. I'm not doing this to !***! anyone off, and I'm not looking for anyone to tell me I suck or I'm a loser or anything along that sort.
Moving on...
I do like Panic! At The Disco. I don't like them because they're over-played. I don't like them because their members are -hot- [thou I personally think most of them are attractive] and I don't like them because lots of people do.
I like them because I like their sound. Their music is cool, in my opinion. I think the whole caberet thing totally works for them. And I'm much like girl_anchronism [sorry if I spelt that wrong] I dig a band that uses piano.
I think, personally, that they don't sound like any band that I have listened to. That doesn't mean they don't sound like any other band. But I currently haven't really came across one yet.
I think they're a neat band. And I also think that for all those people out there calling them emo, posers, lame, fake and etc? Do you know these people? Do you have a close personal relationship with Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith and/or Jon Walker? I'm assuming that you don't. So you can't go and say that these musicians are fake, and are posers. Because you don't know them. Plain and simple.
You can't get angry at peoples opinions, that's why they're opinions.
Now please no one spaz on me. That's not why I posted.

actually punk has been since 1979 and punkers never called themselves punkers because it referred to a homosexual in jail.

alot of bands call themselves punks these days but they sure wouldnt if they knew what it meant. after 1979 it became more of american hard rock and it has never been the same since because it picked up a faster beat and less musical sound. you want punk, The Pistols are punk legends pretty much. Panic! at the Disco and FOB are pretty good and they can play their instruments but they are more american hard rock.
