(Schizoid Man)
|
Vocals: Freddie Mercury (he`s got class), Chris Cornell (wails like a banshee), Jeff Buckley (will blow your mind)
Guitar: Hendrix (the classic), Jimmy Page (virtuoso in every sense of the word), David Gilmour (I don`t think too many people have mentioned him so far, but listen to his solos on Comforably Numb, you might want to change your mind)
Bass: Geddy Lee (YYZ anyone?), John Entwistle (turned bass into a lead instrument), Jack Bruce (fast and improvisational), Cliff Burton (Anesthesia anyone?), Les Claypool (best among his modern day contemporaries), Greg Lake (listen to karn evil 9)
Drums: Neil Peart (how can you not), Keith Moon (wild whirlwind drumming), John Bonham (powerful), Carl Palmer (most technically proficient after Peart)

Bonham vs. Peart

Oh yeah, and what the hell is with people bashing Neil Peart just because you like John Bonham. I admit, John Bonham is very, very good, and he bashes his drums like crazy. But Neil Peart is superior in technical proficiency, keeping the beat and adding rapid melodic flourishes. And yes, he DOES need that 60 piece drum set. Apparently everybody thinks Moby Dick is the best drum solo ever, newsflash: you`re wrong. That award goes to "O Baterista" by Neil Peart from Rush in Rio. Listen to that, it`ll blow your mind. Think you can drum? After listening to that you`ll want to kill yourself for being so horrible compared to Neil Peart.
