On September 28, 2004, independent record label Skipping Discs, which specializes in tribute albums and compilations of cover songs, released its fourth CD, "Different for Girls: Women Artists and Female-Fronted Bands Cover Joe Jackson."

This compilation, the first-ever tribute album to Joe Jackson, is currently being promoted on his official website – http://www.joejackson.com

Mr. Jackson himself has said: "I LOVE the idea of an all-female tribute album! Let them know I can`t wait to hear it."

This compilation contains tracks from Mary Lee`s Corvette (4 stars in Rolling Stone for their cover of Bob Dylan`s "Blood on the Tracks" album) and Essra Mohawk, whose 1971 "Primordial Lovers" was named one of the "top 25 all-time albums" in a 1977 Rolling Stone review.

The CD also features liner notes by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Joy Askew, whose album credits include Jackson`s "Big World," "Live 1980/86," "Blaze of Glory," "Laughter & Lust," and "Heaven & Hell."

Other releases from the Skipping Discs label include "Spiders From Venus" (an all-women`s tribute to David Bowie), "Love Her Madly" (an all-women`s tribute to The Doors), and "Saturday Night Hay Fever" (bluegrass artists performing disco hits from the late `70s).
